Introduction
The Medical Admissions Unit (MAU), also known as Ward C3, at the Diana, Princess of Wales
Hospital is a 27 bedded admissions ward. Responsible for accepting all Acute Medical Admissions (some
exclusion criteria's are upheld) from A&E and local GP's.
Patients are admitted and a full comprehensive nursing and medical assessment is carried out. Patients are
stabilised and either transferred to another medical ward to continue prescribed treatment or discharged home
within 24 hours of admission. |
