Child Development Centre
Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital
|
Introduction
The Child Development Centre (CDC) at the
Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, offers therapy and pre-school
nursery care to local children with severe and special needs. The Centre is staffed by a group of multi-disciplinary professionals who work as a team, to bring out the very best in the children that attend.
Multi-disciplinary Therapy
A Multi Disciplinary team is involved in the development of an individual programme for each child that
attends the Child Development Centre (CDC). Pre-school children referred to the centre are assessed over a six
week period, when every child spends time with each member of the team. Assessment is a process during which
parents work closely with the staff at the CDC. Following this assessment period, the team holds a review for
each child and, working closely with parents, an individual programme is designed to enable the child to reach
his/her full potential during his/her time at the centre.
The Team includes Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nursery,
Education and the Consultant Paediatrician. |
