The Medical High Dependency Unit at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby is a four
bedded specialist unit located on the C floor. We care for patients over the age of 16, and cover a wide range
of medical specialities, such as:

Diabetes/Endocrinology

Gastroenterology
-
Respiratory medicine, encompassing Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) & Non-invasive
Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIV/BiPAP)

Cardiac medicine

ITU Stepdown

Neurological conditions
Patients in MHDU are nursed in a 'high tech' environment, and are usually linked to both a
bedside and central monitoring station, where a number of vital signs can be continuously evaluated. |
