Minor injuries unit

Goole minor injuries unit (MIU) is open 24 hours a day, every day, all year round and is a great alternative to A&E if you have suffered from a minor injury.

Need urgent medical attention?

Minor injury units do not treat emergency cases or problems your GP would usually deal with.

If you need urgent medical attention and have symptoms such as chest pain, breathing difficulties, conditions likely to require hospital admission or pregnancy related problems, do not come to the minor injuries unit; visit your nearest emergency centre (Scunthorpe).

Treatments offered

We have a team of highly dedicated and skilled doctors and nurses who at all times aim to provide a friendly, efficient and a quick service.

They can provide treatment for:

  • Sprains, strains and broken bones
  • Wound infections
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Minor head injuries
  • Insect and animal bites
  • Minor eye injuries
  • Injuries to the back, shoulder and chest.

Our x-ray facilities are open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with an on-call service available on evenings and weekends.

Referrals

Patients can self-refer (no appointment needed) or are referred by their GP. Some patients are brought in by ambulance.
