In addition to the numerous consultant-led clinics, the plaster room provides a specialised service to patients requiring plaster casts, braces and splints. We are a multi disciplinary department and co-ordinate services with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, rheumatology and orthotics. We have a dedicated inpatient ward and day ward at both Grimsby and Scunthorpe hospitals.
A wide range of orthopaedic surgical prcedures are available at Goole hospital, including knee, hip and shoulder replacements, and treatments of sports injuries.
All of our services are tailored around individuals and we consider every patient to be as important as the next. Our consultants and their teams have extensive expertise and experience. From research involvement to cutting edge technology in operations their skills and knowledge span many areas. Our aim is to provide an efficient, friendly and high quality service for all our patients. We strive to ensure that they are well informed and reassured about their treatment.
In the outpatients department we see new patients who are referred by their GP and also review patients on an ongoing basis. We review patients following operations and following A&E attendances. We also have nurse and physio led clinic as well as a plaster room. The day surgery unit carries out any procedure where the patient can be treated and discharged within a day. In the case of orthopaedics this includes anything from lumps and bumps to shoulder, ankle and knee arthroscopies. When you are admitted to the unit you will be assigned to a named nurse who will, as far as possible, look after you during your stay.
