Patients sought to help shape the future of local services

Members of the public, patients and carers are being sought to help shape the future of health services in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole.

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is seeking patient representatives to join working groups that have been set up to look at ways to improve those services locally, which will include exploring how best to deliver those services in the future. These discussions are being led by the local doctors, nurses and therapists who provide the services in our hospitals who are looking for input from patients and relatives with direct experience of the services to contribute their views and ideas into the discussions.

Pam Clipson, director of strategy, planning and performance, said: “We want to ensure that patients are involved in how we shape our services going forward and are looking for people who are passionate about their local health services who have ideally experienced care as a patient or as a relative of a patient in these service areas. You’ll need to have good communications skills, strong links to your local community and the confidence to challenge proposals ensuring patient’s voices are heard.”

Representatives will be invited to meetings every six weeks and also asked to participate in virtual discussions via email.
To express an interest in becoming a patient representative please complete the application form on the Trust website at https://www.nlg.nhs.uk/about/trust/service-reconfiguration/ and return to kerrycarroll@nhs.net by February 16, 2018.
