Reminder of revised parking charges from September

Patients and visitors to hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole are being reminded that revised car parking charges are being introduced this autumn.

Parking charges at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust will increase by 10p from September 1 2019.

The increases were announced in 2017 as part of the Trust’s updated car parking and traffic management policy, which details a 10 pence increase each year from September 2017 to September 2021.

Disabled users will not be affected as the £2.00 fixed rate tariff for blue badge holders will remain the same price and existing concessions for long term users and cancer patients will continue unchanged.

The charges for staff are also increasing.

The Trust has just been awarded the Park Mark Award and Disabled Parking Award (DPA) for 2019.

The Trust receives no central funding to provide car parking and security services. It therefore needs to charge for car parking otherwise money allocated for patient care would be spent on maintenance.

Jug Johal, director of estates and facilities, said: “The majority of the money we receive in fees from drivers is invested to pay for security and maintenance of our parking services to keep patients and staff safe while on our sites. Any surplus is used directly for patient care across the Trust.”

The current prices, new prices and those going forward are included in the table below:
