Epilepsy

Our epilepsy nurses provide support and information to adults with epilepsy, their families and carers. Clinics are held at the Diana, Princess of Wales hospital and out in the community.

Service users must be registered with a North East Lincolnshire GP as the CCG funds the service. Access is via a telephone helpline and clinic appointments.

Four clinics per week are held at Grimsby hospital. One of these is an emergency clinic and only runs when the consultant is present. This clinic is for patients suspected of having a first seizure or for those having problems with medication or seizure control.

Any adult who attends A&E with a suspected first seizure should be given an information leaflet with safety/driving advice and referred to the service for a clinic appointment.

Routine follow-up appointments, where the consultant is usually also present, are held out in the community. There are three community clinics per month based at the following GP surgeries:
