NHS Humber Health Partnership has invested in the development of four new Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) across the Humber region, bringing diagnostic services closer to where people live and work.
Hull CDC, Grimsby CDC, Scunthorpe CDC and East Riding CDC (part of East Riding Community Hospital) are all now open and welcoming patients. Each centre has been designed with input from our clinical teams – across both our hospitals and community health providers – to ensure the right space and capacity to meet your needs.

What are Community Diagnostic Centres?
CDCs are a one-stop shop for health checks, scans and tests, giving you access to a range of diagnostics closer to home, reducing the need to travel to hospital and helping to cut waiting times.
Staffed by expert clinicians, each centre has the capacity to carry out up to 150,000 additional diagnostic tests every year, helping us to detect serious conditions such as cancer, heart disease and respiratory conditions.
If your GP refers you for a diagnostic test, we will be in touch to arrange a convenient appointment. If you need multiple tests, you may be able to have them all on the same day.
We have purposefully located our CDCs in town centres – because we don’t just serve our communities, we’re part of them. By bringing services out of our hospitals we also free up our clinical teams to focus on patients needing acute care.
If you are unable to stand independently or get on and off examination couches without a hoist, we will continue to see you at one of our main hospital sites for your safety and comfort.
