Mr Grant Bayne is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in shoulder and elbow surgery.
He has the following qualifications: BSc (Biomed Sci), MBChB, FRCS.
Biography:
Mr Bayne graduated from Aberdeen University Medical School and did his basic surgical training in Bath. His specialist orthopaedic training was in the Wessex region rotating through Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke and Winchester Hospitals. He undertook a Fellowship in Geelong in Australia where he completed a research project on labral pathology inside the shoulder among other projects. In 2012 Mr Bayne was appointed to the Trust. His special interest is shoulder and elbow surgery including shoulder arthroplasty (resurfacing, hemiarthroplasty, total shoulder replacement, reverse geometry shoulder replacement). He also undertakes rotator cuff tendon repairs and decompressions of the shoulder. Shoulder instability (secondary to labral pathology) is something that he also performs to prevent recurrent dislocations.
Elbow surgery includes tennis elbow release, golfers elbow release, ulna nerve decompressions and elbow arthroscopies.
