Did you know that if you have non-urgent questions about your pregnancy or want some trusted advice from a team of specialist midwives, you can do it from your phone?
From Monday (19 October) you’ll be able to message Ask a Midwife securely through the NHS App and our online patient portal, Patients Know Best (PKB).
The free service is available to you throughout your pregnancy and for up to six weeks after your baby is born and it’s:
- Free to use
- Secure and NHS approved
Emily Cook, our Patient Engagement Lead Midwife, said: “Our social media channels are full of maternity information, advice, news about how to keep you and your family healthy, and service updates.
“However, with Ask A Midwife through the NHS App and Patients Know Best you’ll be able to ask non-urgent questions and receive personalised advice from a midwife about your care specifically, as it won’t be available to anyone else.
“It’ll also keep all your conversations securely in one place, so you can keep referring back to them if you need to and give you access to support when you need it.”
If you’re ready to get started, you can sign up for the PKB service online and click on continue to NHS login.
If you already have PKB account that you use for other services, it’s even easier. Just click share and share your record with the Ask A Midwife team.
If you’ve already done that, all you need to do is click ‘log in’ and you’re ready to go!
