Our endoscopy administration workforce at Hull have been shortlisted for a regional award for their resilience and support at a time of great change in the service.
The team will be battling it out against four others for the coveted ‘Team of the Year’ title at the Yorkshire Endoscopy Training Academy (YETA) Awards.
Caroline Wood, Senior General Manager, said: “It’s an incredible achievement for this team to be nominated, and it reflects how their resilience has supported the numerous changes taking place in HUTH Endoscopy over the last year. The team should be really proud of themselves.
“This team have been involved with coordinating the move from Castle Hill Hospital to the new Allam building. They were instrumental in supporting all the booking and the administration to get patients into the building.
“They assisted the nurses and have really been driving significant improvements in waiting times. They’re making sure our lists are used efficiently, and patients are communicated with well. We do a lot of invasive procedures and they offer them comfort.
“They have quite a lot of demand placed on them, and they drop everything to help each other.”
The team cover both Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary. The service deals with diagnosis, access and treatment. They address inflammatory bowel disease, such as Chron’s, and lifelong conditions in patients, as well as treating cancers. The awards will take place tonight (Tuesday 30 June) at The Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford.
