Three new appointments have been made to the Council of Governors for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.
Cheryl George, Dietmar Harteveld and Marian Davison are new in post whilst Mike Bateson was re-elected for another three years representing North East Lincolnshire.
Governors represent staff and patients and play a key role in holding the Trust Board to account. They act as a link between members and directors and are responsible for conveying information from the Trust Board to members about affordability, service plans and health improvement initiatives.
The Trust has a mixture of elected and nominated governors:
- Public Governors are elected by public members
- Staff Governors are elected by staff members
- Stakeholder Governors are nominated by partner organisations including GP providers, commissioners and local authorities
The following candidates were elected to represent their public constituency and have now started in their roles:
- Cheryl George – North East Lincolnshire (uncontested election)
- Dietmar Harteveld – Goole and Howdenshire (contested election)
- Marian Davison – North Lincolnshire (contested election)

Murray Macdonald, Interim Group Chairman for NHS Humber Health Partnership, said: “I’ am delighted to welcome our new Governors on board. They will bring a wealth of experience with them and I’m looking forward to working with them on behalf of our members and the communities we serve.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Diana Barnes, Jeremy Baskett and Rob Pickersgill for their many years of service as their terms of office have now ended.”
