Hospital maternity teams are reassuring parents feedback and experiences will remain at the forefront of patient care, despite the withdrawal of the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP).
Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is pausing the MNVPs covering the North and South Banks of the Humber from 31 July, as part of a wide-ranging review of services.
Yvonne McGrath is Midwifery Director at Humber Health Partnership (HHP), which runs maternity services at Hull Women and Children’s Hospital, Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, Goole Hospital and Scunthorpe General.
She said: “It is important to recognise the contribution made by both MNVPs and to thank their independent members for their commitment to improving maternity and neonatal services in our area.
“Families will still be encouraged to share experiences and contribute to the future shaping of services through a variety of method to help us deliver the best possible maternity services for families living in Hull, East Yorkshire and North and North East Lincolnshire. Discussions are currently taking place across the region to identify what the future MNVP looks like.”
From 31 July, anyone using maternity services at the four HHP maternity units will be able to call or email feedback through Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS), a Friends and Family Test or the Ask A Midwife on our social media platforms.
They can also leave a review on Facebook, nominate a member of staff through our Shining Lights staff recognition scheme or leave their story or experience in the Care Opinion website. While they’re in hospital or in any unit, they can also speak to the ward or department or can contact staff at a later date.
