Today, we’re delighted to have welcomed our first customers to our new Costa Coffee outlet at our Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.
Located in the main entrance, directly outside our busy A&E department, the new outlet will provide our patients, visitors and staff with 24-hour access to hot drinks and food.
The café was opened this morning by our Chairman, Sean Lyons and Andy Jones, Managing Director – One Retail, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland.
Mr Lyons said: “We know that no one wants to come into hospital but it’s important to us that if you do, we make that experience as easy and comfortable as possible.
“Opening this new Costa outlet will help to ensure that whatever time you need to come to hospital – day or night – you have access to good quality food and drink.
“I believe this will be a fantastic addition to our existing facilities – which include two further cafes, our main restaurant, and our on-site convenience store – enabling us to offer a wider range of choice and services.
“Another benefit of opening this new outlet is that it has also created 14 additional jobs within the Grimsby community and I want to welcome the new members of our team – I’ve no doubt that they’ll be kept very busy!”

Andy, Managing Director of One Retail, added: “It’s great to be working with the team at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby, to bring a high street offer into the hospital for staff, visitors and patients to enjoy.
“The introduction of our vending kiosks will also mean the offers are available 24/7, which is really important to support the people within the hospital environment.”
The café will be open every day from 7am to 10pm for counter service, while both food and drinks will be available via vending kiosks overnight.
