We’re extremely proud to announce that a member of our Hull Security team has received a prestigious national award after saving the life of a patient.
Security Supervisor Tristan Kenny, was awarded the ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Award at a ceremony in Windsor last night.
Tristan was nominated for the award after going to the aid of a patient who was attempting suicide in January this year, putting his own safety at risk to intervene.
Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Security Manager, Billy Lax, said: “We are immensely proud of Tristan for receiving this well-deserved national recognition, which celebrates individuals who go above and beyond in their roles. His actions demonstrated exceptional professionalism, compassion, and courage.
“His intervention not only safeguarded a vulnerable individual at a critical moment but also highlighted the vital role security staff play in supporting the safety and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and colleagues across our hospitals every day.”
Luke Atkins, Security and Parking Contract Manager for APCOA, which holds the contract for our Security services at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, added: “Tristan is an exemplary Supervisor who consistently leads by example. APCOA is proud to have him as a valued member of the team.
“Receiving the ACS Pacesetters Security Officer Distinction Award reflects Tristan’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to going above and beyond to ensure the safety of staff, customers, and premises.
“Tristan has demonstrated exceptional competence in managing and responding to security incidents, consistently handling challenging situations with calmness, professionalism, and sound judgement.
“His proactive approach to risk management and incident prevention has significantly contributed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. This is a well-deserved award that recognises Tristan’s exceptional abilities, vigilance, and outstanding contribution to security operations”
