We celebrated a whole host of professions from across our hospital and community services at our glittering annual staff awards ceremony, Our Stars 2023.
A total of 12 awards were presented on Friday night at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, with nurses, therapists and those working behind the scenes in non-clinical roles amongst those recognised.
Nominations were accepted from staff and patients for the awards – with more than 1,000 received.
Our Group Chief Executive Jonathan Lofthouse presented a surprise award on the night – for someone he felt had shone brightly and deserved recognition. Lynn Sherlock, Mortuary Assistant at Scunthorpe hospital was recognised for the care and compassion she shows to her patients and their families.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Dolloway, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiology, was announced as the winner of the Patients’ Choice Award – an award nominated, shortlisted and chosen by patients.

Collaborative Working Award – Community Integrated Urgent Care Team
Health Tree Foundation Charity Champion – Sharon Dobson, Child Development Centre, Grimsby
Leading Light Award – Lucy Almond-Bell, Matron for Community and Therapy Services
Non-Clinical Team of the Year – Estates Capital Projects Team
Patients’ Choice Award – Charlotte Dolloway, Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist, Scunthorpe
Shining Star Award – Anna Chalaczkiewicz, Senior Dietitian, Grimsby
Unsung Hero Award – Giselle Kesson, Clinical Skills Tutor
Volunteer of the Year – Eileen Cook, volunteer in the Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic, Grimsby
Worth their Weight in Gold – Garry Treacher, Theatres, Grimsby
Group Chief Executive’s Brightest Star – Lynn Sherlock, Scunthorpe mortuary
