Consultants and Junior doctors are taking strike action this week from 7am Monday 2 October to 7 am Thursday 5 October.
We are working hard to ensure disruption to patients is as minimal as possible whilst prioritising emergency care. Unfortunately, that will mean some routine appointments or procedures will be postponed.
Patients who have an appointment or procedure affected by the strike action will be contacted directly. If you do not hear from the hospital, please attend as planned.
Help us to help those who need us most by using your local GP, pharmacy or over the counter medicines where appropriate.
Regardless of any strike action taking place, it is really important that patients who need urgent medical care continue to come forward as normal, especially in emergency and life-threatening cases – when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk. If you need medical help or advice, or you are unsure about whether you should go to hospital, go to NHS 111 online unless it is a life-threatening emergency when you should still call 999.
