A Scunthorpe cardiology nurse, a Grimsby advanced clinical practitioner and a Goole physiotherapist are all up against each other for an award after being put forward by their patients.
The trio have been selected as finalists in the Patient’s Choice Award category at Our Stars 2023 – the awards ceremony for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust which runs hospitals and community services in the area.
Charlotte Dolloway, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiology at Scunthorpe hospital, Aldo Alia Casado, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, in the Emergency Department at Grimsby hospital and Matthew Robinson, Senior Physiotherapist, in the Goole Neuro Rehab Centre, have made it to the final three.
Charlotte was described as a ‘caring’, ‘professional’ nurse with ‘excellent communication skills’.
Aldo was put forward after he made the ‘worst day’ of a patient’s life manageable with his ‘caring energy’ and ‘kind soul’.
Matthew was recognised by a long-term rehabilitation patient of his who he showed ‘great kindness’ and ‘professionalism’ to.
Earlier this year members of the public were asked to put forward their nominations for the award and a patient panel whittled down the nominations to the three finalists.
In total more than 1,000 nominations were received for Our Stars awards and 33 finalists have been announced. The event will see staff, volunteers and charity fundraisers recognised and celebrated.
The winner of the Patients’ Choice Award, and 11 others, will be revealed on Friday 24 November at Our Stars 2023, which is being held at the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe.
Our Stars would not be possible without the generosity of sponsors. Thank you to all of the Our Stars 2023 sponsors:
