Have we loaned you equipment you longer need?
From walking sticks and frames to grabbers, bath hoists, shower chairs and commodes; we loan out thousands of items each year.
Have you recently been unwell and needed to use a walking aid or perhaps you have specialist equipment to help you at home? Maybe a loved one has passed away and you are sorting through their belongings. If you no longer need it don’t let it clutter up your house, return it to us so we can loan it to someone else who needs it.
These could be items you have been given as you’ve left one of our hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby or Goole, or equipment you’ve been loaned from one of the Trust’s community teams to assist you at home.
Iona Johnson, Assistant General Manager for Community and Therapies, said: “These pieces of equipment are aids for daily living which make a real difference to our patients’ lives; supporting people maintain their independence and remain safe and well in the community.
“I’d urge people to have a look around their homes, in their spare rooms, garages and cupboards for any equipment they might have left over from a time when they had contact with our services and drop it off to us if you find anything. The sooner we get the equipment back, the sooner another patient can benefit from its use.”
All items returned will be fully sterilised and cleaned before being loaned out to other patients. Equipment can either be dropped off at one of the Trust’s stores or collections can be arranged for larger items:
