Mortality rates
Our mortality rates are currently in the ‘as expected range’.
The Summary Hospital-level Mortality Indicator (SHMI) reports on mortality at trust level across the NHS in England using a standard and transparent methodology. It is produced and published monthly by NHS Digital.

Staffing levels
How do we ensure we have the right people, with the right skills in the right place at the right time? We know how important it is to our patients and their relatives that they receive high quality, compassionate care.
For our staff to be able to do this it is vital we have the right numbers of staff, with the right skills on our wards.
Any deviations in staffing capacity and capability are detailed in Nursing Assurance Reports within our Trust Board papers and a six monthly report is also published on expectations relating to nursing, midwifery and care staffing capacity and capability.
At a glance
Daily staffing levels are visible on all our wards with prominent boards displaying staff numbers. Anyone walking onto our wards can see at a glance how many nurses were planned for the shift, how many are actually on duty and what is being done if the levels fall short.
