What we do
Our highly skilled team, which is consultant led, specialises in neurological conditions. We work closely with patients in order to promote and enhance their independence. We are based in the community providing therapy to patients their preferred location, where possible. This could include in their home or place of work. For those patients with more severe neurological conditions the service promotes long-term management through on-going assessments, planned intervention and life planning thereby avoiding medical complications, hospital admissions and breakdown of carer support. Staff work in partnership with other agencies, particularly social services, to ensure a co-ordinated approach to care.
A spasticity service is also provided for assessment and treatment which may include medication, botulinum toxin or provision of equipment such as functional electronic stimulation (FES).
