Get something to eat or pick up essentials
If you need to come to Scunthorpe General Hospital, we want to make your experience as easy and pleasant as possible.
On our site you’ll find a restaurant, coffee shop and two kiosks where you can get something to eat or grab a drink.
Restaurant
Our restaurant is located on floor D and is open Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 2.30pm.
We offer a great range of delicious foods, all freshly prepared on site by our Head Chef and the team and we’re happy to cater for your dietary requirements.

Breakfast
Served from 7.30am to 11am. You can start your day with everything from a traditional full English, to breakfast muffins, porridge and pastries.
You can also enjoy fresh bean-to-cup coffee, as well as a variety of other hot and cold drinks.
Hot food
Available from 11am to 2.30pm. We have all the traditional favourites, flavours from across the world and hot snacks.
Our healthy and well-stocked salad bar is always a popular choice, and, if you’re in the mood for a treat, there’s a great selection of handmade cakes from Elements.
Out of hours:
We know that many of you visit our hospitals outside these hours but you can get food and drinks from our Fontanella coffee shop.
You can choose from a range of sandwiches and salads, jacket potatoes and hot snacks. We also serve fresh bean-to-cup coffee and other hot and cold drinks.

We have three Fontanella cafes at Scunthorpe Hospital.
Church Lane entrance
Open 7.30am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm at weekends
Outpatients entrance
Open 7.30am-2pm, Monday to Friday
Next to the restaurant on level D
Open 9am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 5.30pm at weekends.
Here you can pick up a great selection of hot and cold drinks, delicious hot or cold ‘good to go’ snacks, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and panini.
You can also find all the bits and pieces you or your loved one may need while with us, including baby essentials. toiletries, squash, biscuits, greetings cards, nightwear and charging leads.
Cash machine
There’s a cash machine located by the stairwell, near to the main entrance of the hospital. There is a withdrawal charge of 95p.
Toilets and Changing Places facilities
Our main public toilet is next to the Church Lane entrance.
Changing Places facilities are also available near the main entrance for those with complex health needs, which include a range of specialist equipment including a height adjustable bench, hoist and shower.
Access to the Accessible Changing Place is via a RADAR key. A key is also held at the volunteers desk.
