Do you want to join our Council of Governors to help improve and develop local hospital and community services?
We provide acute hospital and community services to a population of more than 450,000 people across a wide geographical area which includes North and North East Lincolnshire, East Riding of Yorkshire and West and East Lindsey.
Our Governors act as a link between patients, the public and our Board of Directors.
Our Governors have various duties they perform, and an important part of the role is that they listen and represent the communities and staff they serve. If you’d like to help us to learn, develop and continue to grow as a Trust, then this could be for you.
We’re looking for people to represent their local constituency. We have seven public Governor seats available for the constituencies below, and also two staff Governor seats available:
- East and West Lindsey – one seat available
- North East Lincolnshire – one seat available
- North Lincolnshire – two seats available
- Goole and Howdenshire – three seats available
- Staff governors – two seats available.
During this time, we are holding Election Roadshows at each of our hospital sites and via Microsoft Teams. These events will provide an opportunity to meet with a Non-Executive Director, which could be the Trust Chair or Vice Chair, along with current Governors. They are informal events to provide you with important information such as the Trust’s background and challenges, the role of the Governors and their statutory duties, plus the next steps in the election process. This is also the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you may have. They will take place on:
- 4 September – 5pm – 6pm in West Arch Boardroom, Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby
- 10 September – 5pm – 6pm in the Lecture Room, Goole, and District Hospital
- 12 September – 5pm – 6pm in the Nightingale Room, Butterwick House, Scunthorpe General Hospital
- 17 September – 2pm – 3pm via Microsoft Teams
- 18 September – 6pm – 7pm via Microsoft Teams.
*These sessions will only go ahead if places are reserved in advance.
To book a place at a Roadshow, please email the Foundation Trust Office at [email protected] or call 03033 302852.
Alison Hurley, Deputy Director of Assurance, said: “Don’t just have your say on health services, make a real difference and get involved and represent your local community. We’re on the lookout for people who want to help us help improve and develop local hospital and community services.
“There’s never been a better time to join us and help make a difference to local and regional health services. With so many changes afoot, we really need people to be involved. As a Foundation Trust, Members and Governors are at the heart of what we do and how we do it. If you would like to put yourself forward or know someone who you think would make a good governor, then please get in touch to with us.”
Our election will open for nominations on Thursday 5 September and will remain open until Friday 27 September.
A nomination form to stand for election to these positions is available from Thursday 5 September.
