Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with around 55,000 new patients diagnosed every year.
Treatment for breast cancer is most effective when found and diagnosed early. The NHS Breast Screening Programme aims to detect breast cancer at a very early stage.
What we do
Our breast imaging and diagnostic service is run from our dedicated unit called the Pink Rose Suite which is based at Grimsby hospital.
We are part of the Humberside Breast Screening Service.
We have two dedicated digital mammography rooms capable of standard mammography, tomosynthesis and stereotactic (computer) guided breast procedures. In addition there are two ultrasound rooms with up to date equipment aiding accurate diagnosis and guiding invasive procedures.
Our staff are specialists trained in breast procedures providing a friendly, knowledgeable and accurate diagnosis as part of triple assessment with the surgical team.
