We’re improving your experience of video consultations with Grimsby hospital.
Attend Anywhere video consultations rolled out in April 2020 during the first wave of COVID-19.
Since then more than 3,500 appointments have been carried out this way, saving patients’ time, travel expenses, parking headaches and preventing wasted appointments.
Face-to-face appointments are still going ahead in our hospitals and community clinics where necessary, but some appointments can be easily done on the phone or via a video call.
To make your appointment run more smoothly we’re introducing virtual receptionists from Monday 25 October. We’ve already piloted this at Scunthorpe.
Our virtual receptionists will be there to greet you when you join the virtual waiting room, they’ll check that you’re in the right place and they’ll be able to update you if the clinic is running late.
Claire Chafer, Assistant General Manager, Patient Access said: “Video consultations have transformed the way we run our outpatient clinics and we are now enhancing the patient experience by introducing virtual receptionists.
“As well as meeting and greeting patients, they’ll be able to check your personal details are up-to-date and carry out other administrative tasks that are currently falling on the clinician.”
