There are not many employers out there offering careers as varied as delivering babies to developing software – but that’s what makes the NHS so great!
There are literally hundreds of potential career paths available, to suit a huge variety of interests and skills – as students from across North East Lincolnshire found out when they joined our teams at this year’s Skills Fair.
The event was held at Grimsby Auditorium on Friday, where our staff were on hand to talk to the 14–15-year-olds about just some of the options available within our Trust and the wider NHS.
These included:
- Operating Department Practice
- Midwifery
- Nursing
- Radiology
- Community and Therapy
- Digital Services
- Estates and Facilities
- Neurophysiology
- Pharmacy
- Training and Development
And, thanks to our interactive displays, they even got to give some of them a try – taking on the challenges of delivering a baby, giving CPR and physiotherapy to name but a few.
Recruitment Specialist, Seonaid Doughty, said: “We love getting involved in careers events in our local communities – and it was so nice to be back out there doing it face to face.
“Our trust is the biggest employer in the area, and it’s really important to us that we’re not only here for you when you or a loved one is ill, but that we continue to provide long-term, satisfying and varied careers for local people.
“There are so many career paths available in the NHS, there really is something for everyone, and that’s why events like this are so useful – as they give us the opportunity to let people know about the opportunities that are available with the NLaG family.”
