We know that making and receiving phone calls when you’re deaf or hard of hearing can be challenging.
But did you know that if you need to call one of our hospitals or clinical teams – or they need to call you – you can use the Relay UK service?
It’s a really simple system, that allows the conversation between you to flow naturally and ensures that both of you are making yourselves understood.
The only difference to a typical phone call is that the professional Relay Assistant will type out what our clinician or member of staff is saying for you to read on your textphone or via the Relay UK app.
You have the option of either replying verbally or via text – which the assistant will relay to our teams.
All the information discussed is kept strictly confidential and the service is fully GDPR compliant.
To use the service, just dial 18002 before the usual phone number, including the area code where applicable.
